Meet the artist behind the paper …

Hi, I’m Kim - an artist who turns homes, travels, and the little moments you didn’t realize you were sentimental about into art.

I work in both digital and paper illustration, which means I’m usually covered in glue, hunched over my iPad, or both. It’s messy. I love it.

So how did I get here?

Like most kids with a crayon addiction, I was all-in on art from the start. But it wasn’t until high school that I found my groove in graphic design, which led to a Creative Advertising degree from VCU (go Rams!).

In 2005, my best friend was getting married on a shoestring budget, and we figured - why not DIY the stationery? That one project turned into Little Moose Studio, my first creative business.

For the next decade, I designed custom invitations, greeting cards, and branding for small businesses. I loved it, but in 2019, life got a little... lifey, and I hit pause. The creative itch, though? Still very much alive.

Fast forward to 2021. With my calendar cleared by the pandemic, I picked up my pens and scissors again - just for fun. That spark grew, and by October 2024, Paper Work Design Co. was officially born.

Now I get to make one-of-a-kind, giftable art that celebrates your people, your places, and all your best stories - and honestly, there’s nothing I’d rather be doing.

I live in Richmond, Virginia with my snack-supplying, chai-fetching husband. I carry a pencil pouch like it’s a personality trait, and I’ll never say no to a Scrabble match, a Gilmore Girls binge, or a good travel rec.
